Higher Dance: Make your Dance Certificate Count as your dance examinations can now count as credits for university and college entry at Lanarkshires's centre of excellence in Theatre Arts. The course is a must for self development , technical improvement and performance.

New courses for 2006 intermediate 2 and advanced higher courses. Jazz art UK will pilot new courses/modules for the above courses in the 2006/07 sessions, minimum entry level for intermediate 2 grade 4. Advanced higher is entry by audition.

The Jazz art training scheme was founded in 1997-to give aspiring young performers the opportunity to work with top professional teachers and directors from Europe and the USA.
Director Sheridan Nicol believes young Scottish performers should have the chance to learn from the best in the business here, at home in Scotland. Over the last decade the Jazz art Project has produced some of the best young performers in the industry gaining contracts in Musical Theatre,Television,Film,Video,Cabaret and Cruises.

In 2004 we were approached to develop the “HIGHER DANCE PRACTICE” certificate and later in the year became a registered SQA centre.
Year 1 saw the project gain the highest marks in the country with 50% ‘A’ Passes.

In 2006 we have been asked to develop both the Intermediate 2 and Advanced Higher courses plus develop access courses in Dance,Drama and Voice to Further Education standards.

Sheridan has always believed that dance qualifications should have parity with academic certification and sees this Jazz art development as a huge step to bring this to fruition.

SUCCESS We’ve done it again.......so impressed were the SQA top brass at our recent show ....
they’ve asked us to perform at the International Conference/Awards in Edinburgh on Thursday October 5

Raveheart 2006

Following the success of the project in our recent show. I have been asked to to develop the piece as part of Fiona Kennedy’s show in the Glasgow Pavilion in early November.
