JAZZ Dance

Sheridan Nicol is recognised as  Jazz Dance Master: over the years she has taught and mentored many of the UK's top young performers and choreographers,and been instumental in creating most of the jazz dance syllabus training presented in Scotland and throughout the UK.

Jazzart's unique training scheme aims to develop flexibility and strength to enable performance with energy, speed, stamina, co-ordination and control; to have the confidence necessary for auditions and to work in varying jazz dance styles, including Hip-Hop / Streetdance and Lyrical

Students can achieve Graded certification from Primary Foundation to Advanced 1 in this technique plus transfer their certification to SCQF Credits at Intermediate 2 - Higher and HNC level.

The school also runs regular guest workshops with top choreographers including Tim Noble, Paul & Pauline Joseph, Paul Farrell and Rod Buchanan.

Dance/Choreography aids the delivery of energy through an understanding of weight transference to enhance performance - the essence of all performance is energy transfer through centred movement. Students are encouraged to create their own work on all vocational courses.

Higher grade certificates can transfer to SCQF credits from Intermediate 2 level to Higher and HNC .
