Junior School Age 3-8
Provides a variety of classes appropriate for each child's age and level of technique.
Tiny Twisters
For students ages 3+ offers our 'Tiny Twisters' creative enjoyable/ fun introduction to dance/ movement based classes bringing the joy of music and development of both mind and muscle memory.
Weekly classes increase both confidence and competence through a series of exercises that give a foundation to proper dance technique.
Students are encouraged to listen attentively while developing a rhythmic awareness and interact with both the teacher and the group to express creativity.
Junior Superstars
Our Junior Superstars performance programme is open to students of 5+. Classes centre on confidence building through Drama games and voice production, taking care not to push young voices beyond their years. The focal point is performance and all students participate in both workshop and theatre presentations throughout the year.
Street dance classes are also available fro age 5.
All Junior students are eligible to sit examinations and assessments to national standards in Ballet - Tap - Modern- Street Dance and Musical Theatre
Intermediate School Age 9 +
Provides classes in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Street Dance, Drama, Voice technique presented on a weekly basis
These classes are designed to strengthen technique in all subjects and develop musical interpretation. Students acquire the knowledge and discipline to expand dramatic expression and character development while building a vocabulary specific to each subject.
All students can enter national examinations in all subjects and those in P6 and 7 can audition to enter our vocational talented young performer's scheme, bringing their training in line with the Curriculum for Excellence.
Senior School 11yrs+ (S1)
Structured training leading to SQA certification at Intermediate 2 level in Jazz - Contemporary - Classical Ballet - Tap- Choreography and Drama.
Students can also enter dance examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance and The Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance plus Musical Theatre with the British Theatre Dance Association.
Many Opportunities arise throughout the year for our vocational students to perform in all aspects of the industry.
Masters Performance Programme 14yrs+ (S3)
Jazzart uk is unique in the field of offering both vocational exams through accredited Societies in all disciplines plus Higher Dance Practice and HNC certification in Contemporary Dance and Musical Theatre on part time courses.
We believe dedicated young performers can achieve this standard of excellence by S6 leaving them credit rich and debt free in whatever path they take in life. To date we are proud of our 100% pass rate of which 80% are A passes and look forward to future developments with our own qualification coming on board.
All Students are eligible to enter examinations in Classical Ballet (RAD) Jazz & Tap (SDTA - BTDA ) and Musical Theatre (BTDA)
Those seeking a teaching career can be entered for Associate Teaching Qualifications alongside their HNC training program.
