Founded in 1945 by Bette Clark the school has steadily produced performers and teachers for 7 decades. We believe there is an abundance of talent in the Shires and director Sheridan Nicol is committed to giving local talent the opportunity to source training at the highest level.  Jazzart uk was the first modern apprentice company and from 1994 to 2000 trained and toured it's unique group of young performers nationally.  Jazzartuk was the first project Company to perform at THe Festival Theatre Edinburgh in 1998 and to date has produced more professional practitioners than any other independent centre in Scotland.

Director Sheridan Nicol states

"The performance industry is growing worldwide and always has a need for talented young performers who have a strong all round training in dance, acting and singing, Here in the U.K. stage productions are increasingly dominated by musicals, many touring nationally either before or after their London run: many Scottish Theatres now produce their own musicals and pantomimes. There are an increasing number of Dance Companies operating in a multi disciplined way. Children's Theatre Companies , community theatre projects. film and television production, fringe shows, cabarets, floor shows, promotional tours, cruise ships all require the all round triple threat performer - we aim to give opportunities to all our students to follow their chosen path"
